3. Alejandro García Padilla

Alejandro Javier García Padilla (Spanish: [alexandɾo ɣarsi.a], born on August 3, 1971) is an American politician and lawyer who served as the 11th governor of Puerto Rico from 2013 to 2017. Prior to this position, García Padilla occupied several roles in the political landscape of Puerto Rico; first as Secretary of Consumer Affairs, and then as a member of the 24th Senate of Puerto Rico and as president of the Popular Democratic Party. Locally, it is a strong advocate of maintaining the current political status of Puerto Rico as that of an unincorporated territory of the United States with self-government, while at the national level it is allied with the Democratic Party.

 

2. Luis Fortuño

Luis Guillermo Fortuño Burset (born October 31, 1960) is an American politician who served as the tenth governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, a territory of the United States of America, and as president of the New Progressive Party from Puerto Rico. (PNP) until 2013, he served as president of the Council of State Governments during 2012 and served as president of the Southern Governors Association from 2011 to 2012. On June 26, 2011, he announced his plans to apply for the re-election. He was defeated in the 2012 Elections by Alejandro García Padilla. 

In the 1990s, Fortuño served as the first Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce (1994-1997), as Executive Director of the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico (1993-1994) and as President of the Hotel Development Corporation of Puerto Rico during the administration of Pedro Rosselló.
