3: Kwame Nkrumah

Kwame Nkrumah was the leader of Ghana and its predecessor state, the Gold Coast, from 1951 to 1966. He was the first Prime Minister of Ghana. Nkrumah was one of the founding members of the Organization of African Unity, which later became African Union.

He was an outspoken advocate of Pan-Africanism.
