Mahela Jayawardene one of the most popular batsmen that the Sri Lankan cricket team has ever come across. He is one of the most skilled right hand batsmen of Sri Lanka who has led the team for a very long time in a lot of important tournaments. He was born on 27th may 1977 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He has also had a successful career in a lot of domestic cricket tournaments like the Indian Premier League buy playing for the Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers and Delhi Daredevils. He is best known for being one of the only Sri Lankan cricketers to score more than 350 runs in a single test innings. He established this record when he scored a whopping 374 runs in a test innings.
2. Muttiah muralitharan
Muttiah muralitharan will be best remembered as one of the only Sri Lankan players to challenge almost every other player in the world when it comes to taking the highest number of wickets. This extraordinary spin wizard was born on 17th April 1972 in Sri Lanka.
He holds the record of being the only bowler in the world to take a whopping 800 wickets in test international cricket. He is also one of the highest wicket takers in odis because of his extraordinary 534 wicket haul which he managed across his 350 match ODI career.
