George Manneh Oppong Weah started his career in his home country of Liberia, where he played for Bong Range United, Mighty Barrolle and Invincible Eleven Africa Sports. George Weah is the first and only African player to have even won the pretigious Ballon d’Or Award.
Oppong Weah spent 14 years playing for clubs in France, Italy and England.
Legendary former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger first brought him to Europe and signed him for Monaco in 1988. Weah moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 1992, where he won Ligue 1 in 1994 and became the top goalscorer in the 1994-1995 UEFA Champions League.
